On Thursday 11th March 2010 the final of Dancing On Wheels was broadcast on BBC Three. The two couples who had made it to the final week were Mark Foster with Diana Morgan and Caroline Flack with James O’Shea.
For the final, Brian Fortuna decided both couples must learn two new dances each - a Latin and a ballroom dance. It was the toughest week of training for the couples!
Mark and Diana danced the Rumba and the Quickstep. Caroline and James danced the Jive and the Viennese Waltz.
The three judges, James and Ola Jordan and Ade Adepitan decided that the winners of Dancing On Wheels were...
Caroline Flack and James O’Shea!
The winning couple went on to represent the UK at the most prestigious wheelchair dance sport competition in the world - the European Championships! The Championships took place in Tel Aviv, Israel in October 2009. They were the first UK couple to ever take part in the championships!
They took part in the Latin section of the competition which consisted of a five-dance event. The five Latin dances they performed were Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive.
They finished in fifteenth place out of seventeen countries, beating Finland and Germany.
