Fred Done Stages Glittering Birthday Bash For Wife Mo
Behind every successful man is a woman and bookie Fred Done wasn't going to argue with this old saying at his wife's glittering 70th birthday bash at the weekend. Fred said he sure picked a winner when he first started dating Mo at the tender age of 15 on home turf in Salford. And he acknowledged his wife's key role in his phenomenal success, building his business to become the largest independent bookmaker's chain in the country.
Fred laid on a star-studded “Mo-town” party for his beloved at Manchester Central on Saturday night, hosted by family friend, Vince Miller and attended by guests including former top jockey Jonjo O'Neill.
Salford tenor Russell Watson gave a rousing performance of favourites including Nessun Dorma and You Raise Me Up before Londoner Heather Small, who had a string of hits with Manchester band M People, took to the stage to remind the delighted party goers of that amazing voice.
“I always say I am an honorary Mancunian,” said Heather, who has sold 10m records. “I feel at home here. It is very close to my heart. It is also a very resilient city and always bounces back – either from bombings or rioting.”
But as well as her fantastic voice, her amazing figure wowed the audience of over 200, with women desperate to know how the 46 year old mum maintains her flawless physique.
She revealed: “I go to the gym five times a week where I do cardio for an hour and some light weights. I have recently taken up Zumba as I enjoy dancing to the Latin beats.”
