Heather Small joins Snake Davis Band at the Anvil - By Maria Virto
Little by name and little in size but with a big voice and a big personality, Heather Small will fill the stage at The Anvil, Basingstoke, on Sunday, May 24 at 7.30pm.
As part of M People, hits such as Movin' On Up, One Night In Heaven and Search For The Hero meant that Small became one of the seminal British voices of the 1990s, with the group winning the Best British Dance Act Award at the Brits in 1994 and 1995 as well as the Mercury Music Prize.
Recently, in addition to appearing at Buckingham Palace for the 2012 Olympics handover party as well as Manchester Pride and the Cardiff Millennium Stadium for the Welsh Six Nations victory celebration, Small spent last autumn on our television screens in the hit BBC series Strictly Come Dancing.
In the midst of all of this, Small and the Snake Davis Band completed a run of three sell-out nights at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London at the end of 2008. And, having spent the past few months concentrating on her dance moves, she is now very keen to get back to the singing.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Small showcase her vocal talent with a mixture of blues and jazz standards and the greatest and best loved hits from her own solo material and her days with M People.
