Heather Small Coming To Torquay!

Taken from the 'Whats On West' website:

Heather Small, the former lead singer with M People, is coming to Torquay this winter.

As Part of M People, hits like Moving On Up, One Night In Heaven and Search For The Hero and albums like Elegant Slumming, Bizarre Fruit and Fresco achieved massive worldwide success.

Heather became one of the seminal British voices of the 1990s, with the band winning the Best British Dance Act Award at the Brits in 1994 and 1995, as well as the Mercury Music prize.

In 2000, Small released her solo album, Proud, and a single of the same name, closely affiliated with the British Olympics team of the time.

When Oprah Winfrey was looking for a song to sum up the work she'd been striving to achieve over her twenty-year career, she got in touch with Small and Proud became the theme song to The Oprah Winfrey Show.

She was last seen on our television screens in the BBC1 show Strictly Come Dancing and, with the Snake Davis Band, completed a run of three sell-out nights at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London at the end of 2008.

The singer visits Torquay's Princess Theatre on November 16. Tickets cost 22.50 and 25.00 on 0844 847 2315.
