Lord Sebastian Coe is the guest speaker at the 2011 Starting Blocks Gala Dinner on 15 September 2011 at indigO2. Heather Small, the voice of the London 2012 bid, will also be performing at the event.

At the dinner you will hear from Lord Coe about the London preparations, and meet some of our young athletes and hear their experiences first hand. Greenwich Starting Blocks Ambassadors and 2012 hopefuls Zoe Smith (weightlifting) and Gemma Gibbons (Judo) will attend the event. Lord Coe is a true sporting legend. During his sporting career he won four Olympic medals - two gold - and smashed 12 world records. In 2005 he led the British team that won the bid to bring the Games to London in 2012 and now chairs the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Singer Heather Small, who is also known as the iconic voice of the London 2012 bid, will perform top hits at the event.

Proceeds from the tickets will go to Greenwich Starting Blocks Trust, a charity which identifies and supports our very best local talent. Over the past five years, the trust has supported over 87 athletes, of which six have a real chance to represent Team Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
